Careers · How It Works
Know how the opportunity works before you apply.
Meridian Partners works with independent sales contractors across five international markets. We secure sales assignments from client businesses, prepare the market and assignment, and engage contractors to carry out the sales work on commission. This page explains what the role involves, how assignments operate, what Meridian provides and what working independently means in practice.

Represent client businesses on clearly defined sales assignments.
Meridian Partners secures contracts from businesses that require professional sales representation. Each assignment identifies the client, the offer, the market, the businesses being approached and what counts as a successful outcome. Contractors undertake the sales work and earn commission when those outcomes are completed.
Client work secured by Meridian
You are not responsible for finding Meridian's business clients. The commercial engagement is established before the sales assignment reaches you.
A defined assignment
Every assignment should clearly identify who you represent, what you are presenting and what successful completion means.
Nothing to purchase
There is no joining fee, inventory requirement or product package to buy.

- 05

- 06
Commission recorded
The completed outcome is recorded against you for invoicing under the agent agreement.
What you will actually do.
- Contact business owners and decision-makers.
- Understand the business before presenting the client's offer.
- Explain the offer clearly and accurately.
- Manage follow-ups and maintain momentum.
- Record conversations and outcomes honestly.
- Represent the client and Meridian professionally.
- Escalate questions when operational support is required.
This is active business development. Success comes from good conversations, consistent follow-up, professional judgement and the willingness to continue after unsuccessful approaches.
How commission is earned.
This is commission-based contracting, not salaried employment. Commission is earned when the completed outcome defined for an assignment is achieved, recorded against the contractor and invoiced in accordance with the agent agreement. Earnings vary according to performance and no income level is guaranteed.

Straight answers
The questions applicants ask most, answered plainly. If yours is not here, the application form gives you the opportunity to raise it.
What would I be selling?
Whatever the assignment defines. Each brief names the client business, the offer being presented and the market it is being presented in. You represent that client's offer — you are not selling anything of Meridian's, and there is never a product for you to buy.
Are businesses to contact provided?
Yes. Each assignment includes researched business information — the businesses being approached, where they are and why they made the list. Building the list is not your job.
How is commission earned?
Each assignment defines the outcome that counts as successful completion. When a business completes that outcome, it is recorded against you, and you invoice for the commission under the agent agreement.
When is commission paid?
Commission is invoiced rather than paid as wages. The agent agreement you sign at onboarding sets out the invoicing and payment terms that apply to your assignments.
Is there a salary or guaranteed income?
No. This is commission-based contracting: there is no salary, no retainer and no guaranteed income. Earnings depend on the outcomes you complete.
Is the work conducted by phone, in person or both?
It depends on the assignment. Some are conducted by phone and email, some involve visiting businesses, and many are both. The brief states how the work is expected to be carried out.
Are there fixed hours or minimum targets?
No. You organise your own schedule and no one monitors your hours. Assignments define the outcome that counts as completion rather than imposing rosters or timesheets.
Can I work alongside another job?
Many contractors do. You control your schedule, and assignments can be worked around other commitments. Businesses are generally reachable during business hours, which is worth considering when planning your time.
What costs and expenses am I responsible for?
There is no fee to apply or join and nothing to purchase from Meridian. As an independent contractor you run your own affairs, including your own tax, and the agent agreement sets out the full commercial terms.
Do I need previous sales experience?
It helps but is not required. Reliability, clear communication and willingness to learn matter more than a long résumé — applications are screened for potential, not tenure.
What happens between assignments?
Assignment availability varies with client demand in each market. The operations team communicates what is coming next; between assignments there is nothing you are required to do and nothing you pay.
What happens after I apply?
You receive a confirmation email with your applicant reference. The recruitment team reviews your application; shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview, and accepted applicants move on to the agent agreement and onboarding. Most applicants have a final answer within two weeks.
